Therese Raquin - Emile Zola
Incredible writing but it's a sad tale.
If you have read Zola before you will know what to expect. If you haven't, he is a brilliant writer but his work is gritty and grim and sad. I keep going back for more then wonder why I did it to myself. He is a genius. Read it but don't say I didn't warn you. This is lovely old vintage Penguin edition from 1962.
(Second hand - good condition apart from very discoloured pages as you’d expect with a book that’s over fifty years old)
